Montario Quarter Precinct Bike Rack Public Art EOI

This Expression of Interest calls for an artist to respond to a public art commission to design, supply and install a series of precinct bike racks for Montario Quarter located in Shenton Park, WA.

DevelopmentWA has engaged the services of public art consultancy Artify to prepare this Public Art Expression of Interest (EOI). The client and stakeholders are seeking to commission precinct bike racks to be installed in five locations within Montario Quarter with the intention of creating a playful and unexpected collection of small scale functional sculptures.

Embedding public art is central to Montario Quarter's community building, public realm and place making direction, contributing to community vibrancy through visitor attraction, place activation, supporting local commercial and retail uses and celebrating the many people, memories and places that have been part of the journey, past and present.

Key dates are as follows:

EOI DUE: Monday 11th September 2023 at 2pm AWT

SHORTLISTED ARTISTS announced (3): Friday 15th September 2023

SUCCESSFUL ARTIST NOTIFIED: Wednesday 8th November 2023

ARTWORK INSTALLATION: Late March 2024

FEE PAID TO SHORTLISTED ARTISTS: $2,000

DESIGN, FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION BUDGET: $70,000 + GST
