Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Council invites Interested Parties to lodge an Expression of Interest for the design and construction of a visitor experience centre at Lot 102 DP 1126475, the former athletics track and fields located on Greg Norman Drive, Hillvue. This location is part of a regional tourism precinct and permanently secure Tamworth's status as the capital of Country Australia.

The main objectives of Council's involvement in this development are to; create a vibrant tourism precinct that attracts visitors to its region, creates new jobs, increases skills and the visitor experience and provide ancillary and perpetual economic benefits to the region. Council will retain ownership and operation of this state-of-the-art visitor experience centre, that will accommodate visitor information services, museums and exhibition spaces. Council's experience design requirements are currently being identified and conceptualized as part of the Tamworth Regional Tourism Precinct Strategy & Business Case Project.

This proposed development site is 2.68 hectares. The land and building will be owned and operated by Council.

Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from parties with appropriate experience, skills and capacity to prepare a full design and complete construction for the visitor experience centre facility. This Expressions of Interest (EOIs) will enable Council to select a shortlist of suitably qualified consultants or contractors to be invited to submit a fee proposal.

The request for Expressions of Interest has been issued in the context of Council ensuring that the proposed development is consistent with Council's vision for the development of the Tamworth region as a major and vibrant regional centre.
