⁠⁠⁠The Territory has a long-established history supporting ACT start-ups and is seeking to facilitate the establishment of a new venture capital fund targeted at ACT based start-ups and attracting co-investment opportunities. The Territory will commit $10 million in capital as a cornerstone investor in this initiative. The Territory invites interested parties to express their interest in establishing and managing this new venture capital fund.

Notes: The ACT Government is looking for a future-focused venture capital fund manager to establish and manage a venture capital fund. Canberra has a dynamic business environment, with new businesses popping up each year across a range of industries. The ACT Government is establishing a new venture capital fund to support greater investment and growth in emerging ACT businesses solving some of the world’s biggest problems. We’re looking for a future-focused venture capital fund manager that shares the values of Canberrans to establish and manage a venture capital fund on behalf of the Territory Government, as a cornerstone investor. The fund will comprise a $10 million cornerstone investment from the ACT Government. This cornerstone investment must be matched by at least $10m of private sector capital, to be raised by the Fund Manager. This is a unique opportunity to establish and manage a fund that will focus on investment in and the commercialisation of pre-seed, seed and early-stage (Series A) companies. The fund manager will be appointed through a two-stage procurement process. The first stage is to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
