Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency invites Registrations of Interest (ROI) from suitably experienced contractors interested in being short-listed as Tenderers for the delivery of Physical Works for one or more safety improvements (including various Resilience and Low Cost Low Risk) projects at specific sites throughout the Central and Lower South Island with a construction start date up to December 2024.

Specific scope elements include:

• road marking and installation of signage

• installation of side safety barriers

• wide centreline treatment, shoulder widening and pavement widening

• installation of median safety barriers

• intersection re-formation

• construction of roundabouts (RABs)

• construction of turning areas (J turns)

• installation of audio tactile pavement markings (rumble strips)

• enabling works (e.g. utilities, services and geotechnical investigations)

• involvement in the design of future sections with the pre-implementation consultant

• provision of Temporary Traffic Management (TTM).

• footpath and shared path construction/reconfiguration

• other works (e.g. earthworks, drainage and granular pavement construction, AC and chipseal surfacing, traffic signals, street lighting, C&E expectations, contaminated materials disposal, accommodation works).

Final tendering of the contracts will be by invitation to contractors registered through this ROI process.

A mandatory joint tender briefing will be held on 20 July 2023, for all contractors considering submitting an ROI response, via Microsoft Teams. 

ROI submissions are to be uploaded to the eTender box in a single file (pdf format)
