Whitsunday Regional Council (Council) is looking to design and construct a new pump track as part of the upgrades to Darcy Munro Park, Conway Street, Collinsville Qld 4804.
The Pump Track is a progressive riding track made up of a circuit of rollers, banked turns and features. The Pump Track is designed to be ridden by riders who “pump” their way around the track.
The proposed Preliminary Design will undergo public consultation along with all the proposed upgrade stages and be approved by Council. The design and the construction of Stage 1 has received funding by a local mining corporate, and the project in its entirety (design and construction) must be within the funded budgeted amount of $275K.
The proposed new Pump Track is being described as a ‘New and Exciting Track for all users’ and is to be designed and constructed as per current relevant Australian Standards and Council’s Development Manual (available at https://www.whitsundayrc.qld.gov.au/downloads/file/1339/wrc-development-manual-v3-9 ) and be a Track catering for beginners to advance Users.
The project will be managed with three distinct stages:
- a) Draft Preliminary design for all four (4) Stages;
- b) Detailed Design for Stage 1; and
- c) Construction of approved design Stage 1.
