ABOUT THE COUNCIL: The Gilgandra local government area is situated in the central west of NSW and covers an area of 4800 square kilometers, including the township of Gilgandra and three smaller villages of Tooraweenah, Armatree and Curban.

Gilgandra is located on the junction of the Newell, Oxley, and Castlereagh Highways. It is 432 km northwest of Sydney and 60 km north of Dubbo and is located approximately halfway on the inland route from Melbourne to Brisbane.

ABOUT THE TENDER: Gilgandra Shire Council (GSC) approved a development application for its 'Aero Park Estate' subdivision that comprises 57 residential lots a few years ago. GSC is now planning to construct Stage 1 of the subdivision that comprises 34 residential lots.

The subdivision site is located on the northwestern edge of the township of Gilgandra approximately 2.5 km from the CDB. The site is principally boarded by the existing Gilgandra airstrip, Farrar and Federation Streets. Gilgandra Aero club is located in the western section of the subject site and includes a hangar. The majority of the site comprises maintained grassland with some scattered mature trees and planted vegetation.

Five residential lots that front Farrar Street as part of the Aero Park Estate have been fully developed to date. The proposed Stage 1 development will include the construction of roads, footpaths, rolled kerb, stormwater drainage, water and sewerage reticulation systems, nbn pit & pipe extension, underground power infrastructure extension, supply & installation of solar street lights and will facilitate the development of 34 residential lots.

The Council is not bound to accept the lowest priced Tender or all or any part of a Tender and reserves the right to conduct the Request for Tender process and select the successful respondent(s) as it sees fit. Council staff are unable to respond to verbal enquiries in relation to the proposal. Late, verbal, faxed or emailed proposals will not be accepted.
