Perth Station Forecourt Public Art Commission 2 - Small-Medium Sculptural Artworks

⁠⁠⁠The Perth Station Forecourt is currently undergoing a major revitalisation, with intention to extend a cohesive design and seamless pedestrian connection across the face of Perth Station from Yagan Square and Barrack Street. The new design will further activate this central activity hub, while also showcasing the importance of Perth’s central station, reflecting the rich history and heritage of the area.

With this important revitalisation projects comes the opportunity to commission significant artworks on the doorstep of Perth. A Perth Station Forecourt Public Art Plan has been developed to function as an overarching framework for the procurement of new artworks, and work hand-in-hand with the PTA’s 9002-000-063 Public Art Policy. The Public Art Plan aims to ensure that the resulting public artwork.

• Contributes to the important storytelling of the site.
• Contributes to the unique visual identity of Perth Station
• Presents a synthesized and cohesive connection to the surrounding central activity hub.

Three significant artwork opportunities have been identified as part of the Public Art Plan for Perth Station Forecourt. This artist brief is for the secondary opportunity, for a series of sculptures to the east and west ends of Perth Station Forecourt.
