Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee – Independent External Members

⁠⁠⁠Narrandera Shire Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to serve on its Audit, Risk, and Improvement Committee (ARIC). The ARIC is an advisory committee to Council comprising 1 Councillor (non-voting ARIC member) and up to 3 independent members (voting ARIC members) - with 1 of the independent members to be elected as the Chairperson of the Committee. Independent members will be remunerated at the rate of 75% of the Councillor's monthly meeting fee for attendance at the ARIC meeting held that month - the current ARIC meeting fee would be $805.50. The ARIC will meet at least 4 times per financial year and will provide independent assurance, oversight, and assistance to the Council in the areas of risk management governance, financial reporting, and performance.

Council encourages people with the necessary skills, experience, and expertise in one or more of the following disciplines to apply

:• Corporate governance;

• Accounting, financial management, and financial reporting;

• Risk management;

• Local government/public sector administration;

• Internal/external audit;

• Information systems and technology;

• Asset management;

• Audit committee/board membership.
