Tender Description

Capital Health Network (CHN) is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from general practices, pharmacies, community and support organisations, and other health care providers in the ACT to work collaboratively with CHN in the planning and delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations to vulnerable populations, as well as associated support services.

Funding Available

Applicants may seek up to $390,000 (GST-excl.) to support the delivery of Vulnerable Persons COVID-19 Vaccination and/or associated services to 31 December 2023.

Priority Populations and/or Persons that may be targeted

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Aged care and disability workers
  • Children aged 5-11 years
  • Culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse (CALD+) communities
  • Older persons, including Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs)
  • People with alcohol and/or drug dependency
  • People living in public housing (e.g. via in-reach services to public housing), or who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • People who identify as LGBTIQA+
  • People with a disability or who are frail or who have a significant mental health condition and cannot leave home
  • Home-bound patients and their family members
  • Vulnerable women
  • Refugees and newly arrived migrants
  • People not eligible for Medicare and people without Medicare cards
  • Other At-Risk and/or Vulnerable Persons.

  • Service Delivery

    General practices and other organisations expressing their interest via this process may deliver innovative COVID-19 vaccination models in areas of need (i.e. priority populations). Examples may include, but are not necessarily limited to, support with infrastructure (such as renting halls and community hubs, mobile vans, pop-up tents) or financial support related to expenses incurred to reach priority populations.

    Data Collection

    Data relating to the vaccination of vulnerable persons in the ACT by CHN-funded service providers will be collected periodically and shared with the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.
