You are cordially invited to participate in the Expression of Interest (EOI) process for the prestigious opportunity to design, supply, and install a state-of-the-art Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB) at the esteemed Proposed Spirit of Tasmania, Terminal 3 Redevelopment project, Wright Street, East Devonport, VIC 7310
Following the EOI stage, a comprehensive Performance Specification, encompassing a detailed high-level overview outlining the functional requirements, the scope of Works, the program, and staging plans, will be duly presented for your thorough consideration.
General Functional Requirements
The Contractor shall design and construct the Works in such a manner to enable the future operation of the Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB) to function as intended by the Principal as described below:
The PBB shall be designed to extend from the fixed passenger walkway door to the vessel boarding door such that passengers can embark and disembark during normal or emergency operations while providing an environment that is protected from hazardous and atmospheric conditions. The complete assembly shall be protected against inclement weather conditions, both when sealed against the vessel and when parked with the weather door closed.
The PBB shall enable access for people with disabilities and meet or exceed the requirements of AS 1428.1-2009, Design for access and mobility Part 1: General requirements for access-New Building Work.
Scope of Works
The scope of Works for this Contract includes but is not limited to the design, supply, installation, construction, quality assurance and commissioning of the following items.
The following describes the scope of the Works in general terms only. The detailed requirements will be specified in a Performance Specification post-EOI process.
Passenger Boarding Bridge inclusive but not limited to the following items:
-Ramps/corridors
-Landings
-Telescoping tunnels
-Control station
-Support structure and lifting/lowering mechanisms;
-Hydraulic Power Unit;
-Electrical power supply;
-Signage;
-Fire protection;
-HVAC;
-Safety mechanisms, lights and reflectors;
-Operational and maintenance manuals;
-Training of nominated TTL staff;
-Commissioning.
