Investigating late winter to early spring cereal cropping opportunities following autumn waterlogging - SthWest WA
Tender ID: 524990
Tender Details
Tender Description
Both in 2021 and 2022, above-average rainfall was received during the traditional cereal seeding window along the south coast of Western Australia. In both years, many growers were unable to sow their crops due to trafficability issues or experienced crop establishment failures. In 2022 GRDC invested in SCF2208-001SAX investigate late winter and early spring cereal cropping opportunities for grain growers following autumn waterlogging - South-Western Australia. High yields were achieved in 2022 due to high amounts of rainfall throughout the whole growing season including August through to December. Growers in the Albany PZ and Esperance PZ would like to see this investment continued for a further 1 year to investigate the value of this approach and compare results over different seasons.
