Tender Description

The City of Fremantle is a local government authority located 20km south of the Perth CBD comprising the suburbs of Beaconsfield, Fremantle, Hilton, North Fremantle, O'Connor, Samson, South Fremantle and White Gum Valley.

The Town of Fremantle Council was founded in 1871 and it wasn't until 1929 that it gained city status.
Today, the City employs more than 400 people and services approximately 30,000 residents over a land area of 19 square kilometres.

We pride ourselves on responsible social, economic and environmental management and in 2009, Fremantle became WA's first carbon neutral city.

In September 2014, Fremantle became one of only two councils in Australia to achieve national One Planet certification for sustainability.

The City also has a strong focus on arts and culture and owns and runs the iconic Fremantle Arts Centre and world-renowned festivals including Australia's oldest festival, the Fremantle Festival.

About this Tender:

The City requires the services of a suitably resourced organisation to remove the graffiti from City owned and managed buildings along with items visible from street view on private buildings with the owner's consent. It includes but is not limited to all parks and open spaces,
street furniture, buildings, and other structures. The suburbs covered include:

  • Fremantle
  • White Gum Valley
  • Beaconsfield
  • South Fremantle
  • Hilton
  • Samson
  • O'Connor
  • North Fremantle

The City of Fremantle contains many heritage buildings and monuments. It is widely recognised that the conservation and maintenance of heritage building require a different approach to most buildings that date from after the Second World War because they were built with traditional building materials and construction techniques which are fundamentally different to modern building practice.
