Tender ID: 520173
Tender Details
Tender Description
Provision for new wash down bay and two (2) structures at the RoadTek Depot - Samuels Rd Bundaberg
Approvals
- Plumbing approval (plumbing permit) is required from Bundaberg Regional Council
- Development assessment/approval is required from Bundaberg Regional Council.
Equipment
- A sediment trap/sump is required to settle out dirt/debris and must be fitted with a screen/grate/arrestor to remove solids such as rags/packaging.
- Supply and install of a rainwater tank, to be supplied from the roof of the washdown bay to supply water to the pressure washer.
- Rainwater tank would require a flow meter installed to capture volumes used.
- A ‘switch’ connection would also be required to switch to Council’s water supply if no rainwater available.
- Oil water separators shall have a capacity greater than the peak hourly flow (L/hr).
Design
- Approx size of washpad:
- 7m wide
- 11m long
- 6.5m high (roof)
- Stormwater and wastewater must be kept separate, so the wash bay design must consider this.
- Required to be roofed and roofing is to overhang the bund by 25% of the open wall height.
- Alternatively, enclosing the wash bay may be an alternative to overhanging roofing.
- Bund of at least 100mm high (or speed hump of 75mm high) is required on all sides to prevent entry of surface stormwater into the wash bay.
- Floor is to be impervious (e.g., preferably concrete).
Material Handling
The following products will need treatment/management from the wastewater generated from the wash down bay:
- Hydrocarbons (oil/diesel)
- Dirt/debris
- Cationic emulsion (emulsion spills 1-2 times per week, generally maximum volume is 500mL).
- Kerosene (used for emulsion at 50% of spill volume – up to 250mL).
- Herbicides (assuming negligible amounts, if any at all. The presence/absence of herbicides will need to be confirmed with the successful contractor to ensure waste water is effectively treated).
Discharge to holding tank
- Requires regular pump outs of holding tank by a licensed regulated waste transporter (waste will be regulated under code J120 – oily water).
- Holding tank will require a manhole or similar opening to enable sucker truck access for pump outs.
- Holding tank should meet the relevant Australian Standard (e.g., AS/NZS 4766 for polyethylene storage tanks).
- Pump outs will be carried out by a licensed regulated waste transporter (e.g. Cleanaway).
