Tender Description
This project encompasses investigations, concept design and detailed design of a flood protection levee at the township of Urana. This follows the completion of a Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan in 2022 which recommends the upgrade of the existing levee. Council has since secured NSW Floodplain Management grant funding for the design of the levee upgrade.
The existing 1.2 km levee is to be upgraded and extended to 2.2 km in length. The 2022 Plan nominates a preliminary alignment for the upgraded levee. The levee will protect against riverine flooding. The design of the levee upgrade will include provision for local runoff cross drainage.
A non mandatory project briefing will be held at Council's Urana offices at 30-32 William Street on Wednesday 8 March 2023 at 11.00am for this and three other Federation Council flood mitigation projects which are concurrently out for tender. Prospective tenderers are encouraged to attend this briefing in person or on-line.
