The project scope includes the design and construction of the new Lower Ground, Ground level plus three Levels multi-story car park and associated works to integrate the new facility into the existing station precinct. More generally the works include:

The proposed multi-story car park facility is to be an ‘open deck’ car park for the purposes of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) to remove the requirement for sprinklers and other means of mechanical ventilation as far as possible.

The main multi-story car park lobby will be sheltered and will consist of three sets of lifts and an open stairwell.  All stairwells are designed to connect all levels and are open for natural ventilation but screened and sheltered for weather protection. The top level of the car park deck will not be roofed.

Façade screening with 50% free area is required to achieve ‘natural ventilation’ under Australian Standards and is to be provided to the full perimeter of the car park facility. The façade screens will have a quality appearance and will provide shading and weather protection.

It is a requirement of the project that the remaining existing car park and passenger drop-off facility remains operational and unobstructed at all times.
