Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $14.4 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $110 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Pre-harvest sanitisation of leafy green vegetables (VG22008).
The objectives of the services being sought are to Review pre-harvest microbial management strategies suitable for the leafy green vegetable industry using irrigation water on farm to reduce potential microbial loads in water and in the crop.
The respondent is to:
• Review international literature related to pre-harvest microbial management measures for leafy green crops and irrigation water.
• Collate findings in a final report and provide recommendations for further R&D needed and/or implementation options.
• Produce an industry facing factsheet suitable for publication which summarizes project findings and recommendations, including perceived benefits of adding additional pre-harvest microbial management activities to existing practices.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
