Tender Description

a) Following the July 2022 storm event, the Alps to Ocean Cycle Trail (A2O) was assessed for damage to the track infrastructure. This resulted in the letting of two tenders. This one, CON888/2, is concerned primarily with improving track resilience to withstand future adverse events with some minor repair work located within the vicinity of said work. It is expected that the successful tenderer will be proficient in engineering design, survey, pipelaying, bridge construction and repair (of the type typically found on the trail) and construction of concrete washovers. Ability to cost effectively program the work, good methodologies and prior experience in similar environments is important.

 
b) The second tender is CON888/1 which is primarily concerned with undertaking track repair works as well as some minor resilience work such as culvert upgrades.
 
c) For a detailed SOW, please refer to the appendices.
 
d) Numbers in brackets generally refer to clauses in NZS 3910 for reference.
 
e) This is a Lump Sum Contract (2.2). The value of the works shall not exceed $192,000.00. This tender therefore rates suppliers highly who can provide evidence of favourable pricing, efficient planning, work methodologies and prior experience at being able to complete work of a similar nature safely within budget.
 
f) The method of tender evaluation shall be Weighted Attributes (107)
 
g) Overview of the works as follows;
 
Repairs to existing bridges at Otamatapaio Island Cliff and Tokorahi.
Construct new Otamatapaio Bridge, #2 and track realignment (Provisional Item (12.10)).
Construct concrete washovers.
Clear slips and slumps, track resurfacing
Repairs to water tables and culverts
Drainage pipe install
