Tender Description
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) seeks to establish a Panel of qualified and experienced Contractors to provide bushfire mitigation Services throughout the State of Western Australia on an ‘as and when required’ basis. Contractors appointed to the Panel will be required to undertake a variety of work to support DFES’s fire risk management operations on unallocated crown land (UCL) and unmanaged reserves (UMR). The Panel Arrangement will be divided into the following regions:
- Metropolitan North East;
- Metropolitan South East;
- Metropolitan South Coastal;
- Metropolitan North Coastal;
- South West;
- Lower South West;
- Great Southern;
- Midland/Goldfields;
- Midwest/Gascoyne;
- Kimberley; and
- Pilbara.
Respondents will be able to nominate to provide Services in one or more region.
Local registered Aboriginal businesses and regional suppliers are encouraged to respond to the Request.
Types of Bushfire Mitigation Services that may be Required
Services may include, but are not limited to:
- Grading;
- Slashing;
- Chemical spraying;
- Bulldozing;
- Chaining;
- Rolling;
- Mulching;
- Raking;
- Building tracks or firebreaks;
- Repairing tracks and firebreaks;
- Installing water runoff (erosion issues);
- Rotary hoeing;
- Tree lopping / under pruning;
- Gate/fence installation; and
- Prescribed burning (in future only).
It is expected that the following plant/machinery may be required to provide the Services:
Tractors
- Grader blade;
- Rotary Hoe/Plough;
- Scrub Rake;
- Slasher; and
- Mulcher.
Dozer (Track / Rubber Tyre)
- Tree arm; and
- Scrub Rake.
Skid Steer loader/ Compact Track Loader/ Multi Terrain Loader
- Slasher;
- Mulcher;
- Scrub Rake; and
- Bucket.
Motor Grader
Wheel Loader
- Scrub rake; and
- Bucket.
- Mulcher self-propelled
- Drum roller
- Slasher self-propelled
- Manual slashers / Mowers / Brushcutters
- Bulk Water Carriers
- Chemical Spray Equipment
- Fire Appliance / Fire suppression equipment
- Tree lopping Equipment
Contractors will be required to provide any required plant/machinery with a qualified and experienced operator.
The Term of the Head Agreement (Standing Offer) is four years. There will be three, two year extension options available at the absolute discretion of DFES.
It is anticipated that the Request will be advertised and available for download from Tenders WA in mid-February 2023.
