Request for tender - Red Meat Supply Chain Data Systems and Feedback Mechanisms Discovery
Tender ID: 515202
Tender Details
Tender Description
Over past decades producer feedback has been provided, via a number of platforms and methods, as a way to provide market specification compliance to industry. Data provided within these systems enables supply chain participants in identifying traceability, breeding, procurement, production, health and eating quality decisions which best suit market requirements and thus attempting to improve industry returns.
In 2021 a review was conducted to understand the feasibility of combining MLA’s two feedback systems into a single feedback system, combining the data and features provided in the existing Livestock Data Link and Meat Standards Australia’s feedback systems in an easy to use interface. The first phase ‘myFeedback’ development, due for release in March 2023, is focussing on producer feedback as a whole, however more work is required to understand the future needs of processors and brand owners, and other supply chain users, in regard to feedback data, it’s provision and analytics. It is also recommended to better understand how live animal inputs might also be included, with linkages to carcase data.
This proposed discovery, and the baseline for this terms of reference, will include exploration into simplifying and streamlining data uploads for processors, an understanding of all data sources, linkages and requirements as well as identify recommendations on the options and implications associated with bringing all of MLA’s feedback services and live animal data together in one single platform.
MLA is seeking expressions of interest from qualified and experienced consultants and data specialists familiar with red meat processing, data collection and distribution networks and supply chain data utilisation, to deliver on this terms of reference. Given the broad range of skills required a team approach is preferred.
ISC is currently seeking responses from suitably skilled applicants or consultant teams to address the Terms of Reference.
All proposals must be received by 5pm AEDT on Monday 30th January 2023.
