The City of Cockburn (the Principal) is seeking a suitably experienced and equipped Contractor to convert the City’s raw garden waste from the garden organics bin to compost, compliant with AS 4454-2012 Composts, Soil Conditioners and Mulches.
The Contractor is required to collect the garden and green waste from the Henderson Waste Recovery Park, 920 Rockingham Road, Henderson. The requirement for the removal of the garden waste may involve working on Saturdays or Public Holidays as well as the normal working week, but would exclude Good Friday, Christmas and New Year’s days.
The Contractor’ vehicles will be loaded by the City’s loader for transport off site.
The City may consider delivering the garden waste material direct to a Contractor’s facility, provided it is no greater than 20 kilometres from 52 Wellard Street, Bibra Lake.
The contractor will be required to provide evidence that their composting site is licensed with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation.
The proposed contract shall be in force for a period of three (3) years from the date of contract award, with a Principal instigated option to extend the period for a further one (1) year period and up to an additional twelve (12) months after that.to a maximum of five (5) years. The contract is expected to commence in February 2023.
