Tender to Upgrade Street Signage, Blisters, Kerb and Guttering along Station Street - Quirindi NSW

⁠⁠⁠Liverpool Plains Shire Counci are seeking requests for tender for works to be carried out to upgrade the Kerb, Gutter, Parking, visual controls and signage in a section of Station Street in Quirindi between Daley and Abbott Street.

To align with the current Silo Art Project and address increased traffic movement. A survey was undertaken, and the following concerns were identified.

Concerns for this Development in relation to traffic are:
(i) The potential volume of traffic turning across Station Street.
(ii) How the provision of caravan parking can be accommodated in the vicinity of the silos.
(iii) The impact of the entrance into the proposed parking area being opposite the RSL and near the intersection of Abbott Street.
(iv) The impact on parking from both Council employees and potential tourists given the silos are directly opposite the Council Chambers.

Council has identified the following recommendations be implemented:

1. Improve signage, and line marking for parking along Station Street.
2. Identify and define with the use of visual cues - Long Vehicle, Disabled and Car parking areas between Dalley Street and Abbott Street intersections along Station Street.
(i) Signage installed to clearly identify Parking and No standing requirements.
(ii) Signage to comply with road safety
(iii) Line marking to provide visual guides for parking of vehicles
3. Installation of blisters to provide visual guides.
