Tender Description
Whanganui District Council (WDC) is looking for a capable contractor to construct two parallel 688 metres of new 450 mm and 125 mm PE water main from 51 Erin Rd to the Old Pump Station (219B Great North Road) in Whanganui in the same trench by using the open-cut trench methodology.
The scope of work includes but is not restricted to;
- The installation ONLY of the principal-supplied water main materials, being the a length of 688 metres of DN450 and DN125 PE water main in the same trench by following the open-cut trench methodology.
- The installation of four new two hydrants, and associated streetwear.
- Relocation/realignment of all other utilities that may be required in order to deliver the scope of Works.
- Construction of the water main across the existing Stormwater line (as per designed drawing).
- Private connections where needed.
- Flushing, disinfection and pressure testing of new water pipeline.
- Incorporation of materials supplied by the Principal into the Contract Works.
- Planned work shut-offs with appropriate public notice.
- Management of high groundwater conditions if necessary.
- Full reinstatement in line with the existing conditions.
