Installation of Monitoring Wells, Wakanui

⁠⁠⁠The proposal is to drill one shallow well (45 m depth) and one intermediate well (70 m depth) and install with 150 mm steel casing and 2 m stainless steel screens, develop each well, and conduct an aquifer stepped test on each well.

The drilling and installation of these wells will provide groundwater data for the State of Environment monitoring undertaken by Environment Canterbury. The information from these wells will add to our understanding of the hydrogeologic setting, assessment of land use effects on groundwater, and most likely will generate a lot of interest from several third parties including agricultural, local council and academic groups
