Tender Description
Council (the Principal) is seeking a suitably qualified operator to manage the tennis facility situated within Scarborough Park in an area fronting Hawthorne Street, Ramsgate known as the Scarborough Park Tennis Courts.
The tennis facility comprises 6 tennis courts, tennis player huts and an office/proshop. The facility is the subject of a works package that Council will undertaking to restore the site. Currently Council are finalising the works package and seeking approvals for the works to proceed. Two that end the scope may change, however currently it includes:
The Council works include:
Rebuilding payments/court substratum.
New playing surfaces of the 6 court areas.
The northern two courts are proposed to be more predominately multi-sports. (note -Council are considering the management models for these and this is addressed further in the returnable schedules.
Replacing the existing fencing.
New player shelters and seating
The successful operator will be required to seek any required approvals and undertake works such as, fitting out the proshop/office.
Separately, the Council works do not currently propose sport lighting and Council are considering the need at this site. This tender will seek proposals based on the courts not having lighting, however submissions may address an alternative scenario of the courts being floodlit. This is addressed further later in this tender.
