The Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service ("TCHHS") is seeking a Principal Contractor to manage the Bamaga Hospital Hydraulics Rectification Project.

The documentation for the tender and contract will be based on the AS4300 General Conditions of Contract for Design and Construct.

The scope of works includes removal of existing plumbing fittings and fixtures and a full upgrade of water, hot water, fire hydrants and some gas services. It also includes a new water treatment plant, water storage tanks and associated pipework. There will also need to be allowance for rectitification works (patching, paint, tiling as required) to existing wall linings and ceilings affected by the works.

The hot water plant at the hospital is currently being upgraded under a seperate contract. This tender includes the reticulation of hot water throughout the hospital.

Whilst the hydraulics design is fully completed and included within the tender documentation, there are design responsibilities involving some external structures, Building Management System connections, electrical works and other works.

Tenderers are advised that the work will need to undertaken while the hospital is fully functioning. When fitting out internally, no more than two rooms can be taken out of service at any one time, and this will need to be managed in accordance with Hospital operations.

The successful tender will need to be an experienced builder, QBCC Licensed with an ability to subcontract trades and services as required.
