The scope of works in this contract includes the following:

It is proposed that the road chicane be removed and raised safety platforms be installed along the length of Heysen Drive in order to reduce vehicle speeds while also providing a continuous bicycle lane. This will create a safer environment for all road users.

All works shall be completed in accordance with the documents provided in the tender package.

Primary Objective

The civil works include:

• Removal of trees within the vicinity of the works
• Reconstruction and realignment of existing kerb & channel
• Reconstruction of vehicle crossings to match into new kerb levels
• Reconstruction of pram crossings and surrounding footpaths to match into new kerb levels
• New drainage infrastructure connecting to existing drainage network to accommodate the raised kerb & channel. (Note. A permit will be required to be obtained from Jemena by the awarded Civil Contractor to excavate within the “No Go Zone” of the existing power pole for the proposed pipe between pit no.9 and pit no.10. A concrete anchor block will be required to hold the electrical power pole prior to undertaking excavation works within its vicinity.)
• Upgrade of existing drainage pits
• Removal of existing road chicanes and reinstate with full depth pavement
• Deep strength pavement on approaches and underneath proposed raised platforms
• Stamped asphalt pattern on the flat top component of the raised platform
• Associated line marking & signage
