Mowing of Unkempt Verges – City Wide

⁠⁠⁠The City of Bayswater (the City), is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor (the Contractor) for the provision of mowing services to unkempt residential verges across the City.

The quantity of the verge areas to be mown can vary due to the responses of the verge grasses to local environmental conditions and the level of maintenance undertaken by local residents, meaning that the required works are reactive in nature, and therefore the number of verges requiring mowing per service run cannot be precisely quantified.

One Contractor will be appointed to perform the specified services.

Services that are of a similar nature and type to those specified, which meet the Principal’s requirements and are not specified in Response pricing schedules, may be required throughout the life of any ensuing contract. In such cases, the Principal will formally ask for a price and once this has been agreed on a purchase order will be raised.

In order to maintain the City’s verges in a presentable condition, a Contractor will provide up to three (3) basic mowing services to unkempt residential road verges according to an area (m2) rate per cut or service, as specified in the Schedule of Rates.

The intervals between services will be based on seasonal growth. The instruction to begin each service will be provided by the Principal, and the contractor is to commence each service within 3 weeks of receiving the instruction. It is expected that each cut or service will take up to 6 weeks to complete.

The schedule of rates aligns to the estimated area in m2 of each verge section adjacent to or abutting a residential property.

The total quantities of each verge area will vary for each service.
