CHN, the ACT’s PHN is leading a consortium of PHNs across the ACT and New South Wales to deliver the Workforce Planning and Prioritisation Program to support GP registrar training. The Workforce Prioritisation and Planning (WPP) grant will provide advice on community workforce needs (at the GP catchment level) to the Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC) to inform the Australian General Practice Training distribution targets. It will also provide advice on AGPT training capacity and pathways to support and encourage registrars to establish a home in a region, settle there and complete training within that region. Supporting doctors to train in a region aims to create General Practitioners (GP)with the skills, professional and personal networks to continue working in these locations post-Fellowship.
- Collaborating with the WPP Network to support national consistency in data and reporting methods
- Development of a SOP/Methodology document to guide the completion of the report
- Mapping and identifying additional software/analytics tools/mapping software that will be required
- Develop a Power BI based report dashboard and test with 2 x ACT/NSW PHNs and associated GP Catchments
- Data analytics and modelling
- Understanding of and experience in health workforce planning
- Understanding and use of publicly availably health data sets
