Scope of Works
The Utilities department are looking for an upcoming commissioning lead role to support the project cutovers, pre-commissioning and commissioning of 220kV switchyard at YMPS (Yurralji Maya Power Station) Substation and a 220kV / 33kV bulk supply substation at Dampier. The commission lead will be imbedded into the owners team overseeing the EPC (Engineer, Procure, Construct) contractor to ensure compliance to the scope, commissioning plan and procedures, schedule and ITPs (Inspection Test Plans).
Skills and Experience Required:
• Worked in commissioning roles for a minimum of 10 + years with experience in complex projects with proven capability in brownfields commissioning in transmission systems and with a track record of successful delivery;
• Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications. Power systems engineering or testing technician background preferred;
• Manage the engagement and performance of external consultants, contractors and suppliers and monitor the safety, quality and standard of services delivered for the commissioning scope;
• Must have 220kV experience in testing and commissioning, secondary system isolations, double bus and mesh switchyard arrangements;
• Demonstrated experience in acting in the capacity of an owners team representative;
• Demonstrated experience and capability in performing protection systems and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) testing and commissioning using the suite of omicron testing equipment;
• Demonstrated experience and capability in writing and executing primary and secondary isolation procedures for live switchyards;
• Provide necessary testing equipment for the scope if called upon;
• Demonstrated effectiveness in coordinating multidisciplinary teams;
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills;
• Flexible in approach and able to deal with ambiguity; and
• Must have front line leadership attributes with a focus on Safety, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity and Excellence.
