The Victorian Department of Health have announced an additional 20 Priority Primary Care Centres state-wide following the announcement and set up of the initial five centres as part of tranche 1. The Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (EMPHN) region have two clinics in Tranche 1, one supporting the Northern Health Emergency Department, the other Monash Health Emergency Department. For clinics in tranche 1, the Department conducted an initial review and shortlist of applications focusing on locations of greatest need and proximity to the identified emergency departments. The Department then instructed Victorian Primary Health Networks to conduct a procurement process with the shortlist in order to select and award Priority Primary Care Centres (PPCC) contracts with to these successful applicants.
The additional 20 PPCC’s in tranche 2 will be rapidly set up across Victoria to reduce the demand on hospital emergency departments and increase access to care for primary care type presentations. Services will be available to those with or without a Medicare card, at no cost to the patient, with the fit for purpose facility open after hours. Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (EMPHN) is seeking a Request for Quote (RFQ) to rapidly establish three Primary Care Priority Centres that have the facilities and infrastructure to support effective patient management in line with the PPCC service modelling as outlined in the Department’s requirements. The locations of these PPCC’s will be in proximity to the following health services:

This RFQ is for general practices to respond to and demonstrate their capacity and capability to participate in this program, with contract commencement in December 2022.
