Tender Description
The Gowing Drive link to the Te Ara Ki Uta Ki Tai path is identified as the number one priority piece of Infrastructure within the Ōrākei Local Board’s Greenways Plan.
This link will be the foundation for the ‘Ellerslie to the Sea’ route. The Gowing Drive link is a ‘local path’ within the Greenway’s hierarchy, as it is the southern connection to the Te Ara Ki Uta Ki Tai or Glen Innes to Tamaki Drive (GI2TD) path from Meadowbank.
The current design programme has Developed Design from September 2022 to January 2023 and Detailed Design from January 2023 to April 2023.
In addition to the underpass construction being within the rail corridor, the site at 92 Gowing Dr also has access constraints that will influence the constructability of the design.
The construction methodology is heavily reliant on the type of rail corridor access that is available. An extended Block of Line with both mains impassable on the NIMT East has been confirmed from March to December 2023, excluding the period covering the FIFA 2023 World Cup over July – August 2023.
This RFP is to invite Suppliers to submit a proposal for Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) for Gowing Dr Underpass and Shared Use Path.
