Tender Description

This project involves construction of Coastal Defence structures (seawalls, bundwall, drains etc) on Warraber & Iama Islands in Torres Strait, Far North Queensland.

Tenders are sought from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the following works:

• demolition of redundant infrastructure

• stormwater drainage including pipe culverts and outlets

• construction of new rock armour seawalls

• earthworks and protection to bund walls

• concrete works including new concrete lined drains and reinforced concrete/block wave return wall

• construction of new gravel road pavements

Submissions will be assessed against:

• Relevant company experience

• Capacity to carry out the work

• Contract price

• Methodology and program

• Local employment and training opportunities

A compulsory site inspection has been scheduled for Wednesday 26 October 2022, departing from the Horn Island Airport main building at 0800. Flights from Horn Island to Warraber and Iama will be at the expense of the Principal, however, all other travel costs associated with the Tenderer’s attendance at the inspection shall be at the Tenderer’s own expense.
