⁠⁠⁠Aboriginal Stakeholder Engagement Registration of Interest. Austral Archaeology Pty Ltd (Austral) has been engaged by Cardno (now Stantec) on behalf of BlueScope Steel (AIS) Pty Ltd (BlueScope / the proponent) to provide Aboriginal cultural heritage advice for the proposed Hydrogen Electrolyser Pilot Plant. Austral will also be coordinating interest in the Aboriginal cultural heritage consultation process on behalf of ERM, who has been engaged by BlueScope in relation to the Advanced Steel Manufacturing Precinct (ASMAP) Project.

The purpose of this process is to engage with Aboriginal stakeholders regarding the management of Aboriginal Cultural Values relevant to these projects. On behalf of the proponent, Austral wishes to consult Aboriginal people to assist with assessing cultural heritage values pertinent to the projects. Consultation is required to assist in satisfying the Secretary Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) for the projects which are issued by the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE).

The registration of Aboriginal stakeholders will be undertaken in accordance with the "Aboriginal cultural heritage consultation requirements for proponents 2010". Parties with cultural knowledge relevant to the significance of Aboriginal object(s) and/or place(s) are invited to register their interest. More information about the projects will be provided after registration.
