Supply and Delivery of Replacement Fire Watch Equipment

 

Fire pumps provide mobile land-based fire service to dangerous goods. Currently, Fremantle Ports own two trailer mounted Thune Eureka fire pumps that are 40 years old and only used during emergency events within Fremantle Ports. As they are not used frequently, regular annual inspections take place to ensure they are functional when required. Due to the age of the fire pumps, recent inspections have indicated increased maintenance required and it has become increasingly difficult to source parts for these repairs. Replacement of the pumps will allow Fremantle Ports to:

- Continue to provide a land fire service to dangerous goods vessels on common user nonfuel berths, as required by law;

- React immediately to incidents by having equipment in operation before DFES arrives.

 

The current Thune Eureka testing indicates 180 ms/h with a pump head of 50 mLC. This request is for the replacement of the two existing Thune Eureka fire pumps.

 

Hytrans mobile water supply and fire suppression system is to allow for loading and unloading flammables on non-fuel berths.
