Tender Description
Burwood Council has been invited to make a submission to participate in a 12-month NSW e-scooter shared trial scheme to determine how this micro mobility device can be safely integrated into local area transport network.
Working in conjunction with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and e-scooter shared scheme providers, the trial presents Council with an opportunity to explore a new way of getting around Burwood local government area (LGA). E-scooter shared schemes have the ability to play a key role in mobility and have the potential to encourage sustainable modes of active and public transport. This aligns with Strategic Directions 2.2 of Community Strategic Plan Burwood 2036.
Expressions of interest are being sought from e-scooter shared scheme providers with demonstrated capability in managing e-scooter shared scheme trials in Australian jurisdictions to make a submission on behalf of Burwood Council to participate in and if successful to deliver the trial in accordance with parameters set by Transport for NSW and /or additionally stipulated by Council and e-scooter trial regulations, when made.
The nominated service provider will help identify potential trial locations that meet TfNSW requirements, conduct comprehensive road safety audits, investigate local community interest and prepare a request to participate submission documentation.
Interested service providers are requested to submit detailed documentation addressing how they will comply with key safety/regulatory considerations set by Transport for NSW and/or additionally stipulated by Council.
