Desludge Oamaru Public Gardens Amenity Ponds

⁠⁠⁠The Waitaki District Council is seeking to restore heritage ponds at the Oamaru Public Gardens. These ponds have collected sediment and stagnated to a semblance of their original attractive state. The desired outcome is an attractive community asset, consistent with expectations of the Oamaru Public Gardens as a 'Garden of National Significance'. The supplier/ contractor will need to
1. be experienced in removing solid matter from liquid,
2. be knowledgeable and experience in heritage matters, and in handling material potentially contaminated by asbestos and petrochemical from stormwater run-off from roads.
3. be able to demonstrate they can operate in a high-profile area,
4. manage public safety and ensure work is completed in accordance with environmental and heritage requirements.
