Music in Schools (2023-2025)

⁠⁠⁠The Department of Education and Training (Organisation) is responsible for supporting schools with the delivery of high-quality music education.

The Music in Schools (MiS) program has been delivered in Victorian schools since 2015 to support the following priorities:

• the Victorian Government Education State target that by 2025 more students will reach the highest levels of achievement in the Arts, including Music (Learning for Life); and
• government supported recommendations from the 2013 Victorian Parliamentary Inquiry into the extent, benefits, and potential of music education in Victorian schools.

MiS has so far provided professional learning for around 2,000 teachers from 1,100 Victorian schools, 1,325 pre-service Victorian teachers and has enabled 390 schools to purchase resources for classroom music programs.

The Organisation is seeking offers for the design and delivery of a sequential two-year teacher professional learning program for generalist primary teachers to improve capability and confidence to implement quality music education in the classroom. The program will aim to strengthen music education programs provided in Victorian government schools, especially in schools that need it most.

The DET Supplier Portal

The Department of Education and Training has now established the DET Supplier Portal.

The DET Supplier Portal will allow suppliers to access and respond to procurement opportunities from a number of Education portfolio entities, and to self-manage their organisation’s records on our system.

This Request for Quote (RFQ) is being issued and managed through the Supplier Portal. All information relating to this RFQ is being provided only through the Supplier Portal, and responses can only be submitted through the Supplier Portal.

To view further information on these open market approaches, suppliers must be registered on the Supplier Portal.

• Suppliers not previously engaged by DET can self-register on the Supplier Portal.
• Suppliers who have previously been engaged by DET should email the Supplier Portal team at DET (Oracle.Procurement.Cloud@education.vic.gov.au) to establish initial user accounts. Accounts will be created for staff of existing suppliers with suitable validation of identity.

Responses to RFQs submitted through the Buying for Victoria Tenders Portal will not be accepted.
