In response to Recommendation 29 of the Methamphetamine Action Plan Taskforce Report, the Mental Health Commission (MHC) has developed the Immediate Drug Assistance Coordination Centre (IDACC). The IDACC will ensure that Western Australians experiencing a crisis related to their alcohol and other drug (AOD) use can immediately access care and support in a coordinated and seamless way.
The Mental Health Commission is currently undertaking planning for the procurement of the IDACC Facility services and the associated IDACC Premises, located in the Perth Metropolitan area (within a 5km radius of Perth CBD). This will include:
An immediate access 24/7 Drop in Hub;
Short Term Crisis Beds (6); and
Assertive Outreach and Care Coordination Team.
A Tender will be released for organisations who may be interested in submitting an Offer for the provision of the IDACC Facility services in mid-late August 2022, and a Request for Information relating to the IDACC Premises will be released in late August on Tenders WA. IDACC Premises
To support the provision of identifying a suitable IDACC Premises to deliver services, MHC is concurrently releasing a Tender for the provision of IDACC Facility services and a Request for Information seeking information from organisations or individuals who may have a suitable Premises that could be utilised to deliver the IDACC services.
The IDACC Premises must be located within a 5km radius of the Perth Central Business District (CBD) and is to be close to:
- public transport options (where possible); and
- a hospital in case of medical or mental health emergency.
Nominations for Premises that fall just outside this boundary may also be considered.
Note: the Request for Information to be released on Tenders WA will detail the architectural minimum specification.
The anticipated date for release of the Request for Information is late August 2022.
