Augusta Foreshore Wall Remediation Works (Design and Construct) & Old Augusta Town Jetty

⁠⁠⁠The Shire of Augusta Margaret River (Principal) is seeking tenders from suitably qualified parties to design and complete remediation works to the foreshore wall along the carpark at the intersection of Ellis Street and Victoria Parade in Augusta, and to replace steel components on the Old Town Jetty.

The scope of the works for the foreshore wall extends from the existing southern jetty past the Old Town Jetty finishing near the beach access area.

The requirements of the works are in three separable portions:
1. Design and construction of the Augusta Foreshore Wall
2. Old Augusta Town Jetty steel works
3. Hire of temporary floating jetty/pontoon.

Foreshore Wall
The site is located at the intersection of Ellis Street and Victoria Parade in Augusta. The current foreshore retaining walls consist of a series of timber beams supported by timber posts driven into the riverbed. These support the footpath located directly adjacent to the wall and the carpark servicing the jetties. This wall is failing with rotting timber allowing material from behind the wall to wash out, undermining the footpath.
Old Town Jetty
All steel above the intertidal zone is showing signs of severe corrosion. To rectify this the contractor will be required to replace the steel components in their entirety with prefabricated and treated members. This will require dismantling and the closure of the jetty, with the contractor to manage the notification of jetty users regarding closure times. A temporary mooring system is required for the duration the jetty will be closed to service the residents of east Augusta. A temporary floating jetty/pontoon with mooring points for small vessels will be required to installed at the Ellis Street precinct.

Tenders close at 10.00 am (AWST) Wednesday 31 August 2022 and submissions must be fully received by this time. Shire of Augusta Margaret River is not bound to accept the lowest priced Tender or all or any part of a Tender and reserves the right to conduct the Request for Tender process and select the successful respondent(s) as it sees fit Shire of Augusta Margaret River staff are unable to respond to verbal enquiries in relation to the proposal. Late, verbal or emailed proposals will not be accepted.
