Tender Description

ABOUT THE CITY OF LAKE MACQUARIE:
Lake Macquarie is the Hunter Region's largest city, accounting for 38% of the Lower Hunter population. With the city's current population fast approaching 205,000 Lake Macquarie is also the third largest regional city in New South Wales by population. Moreover, the city's population is expected to grow by 28,000 by 2036, creating a demand for 13,500 new dwellings and associated infrastructure.

ABOUT THE Expression of Interest (EOI) - TENDER:
Council is expanding the Hunter Sports Centre to deliver a state of the art sporting facility for the Hunter and Central Coast region.
This professional-grade sporting facility will nurture the talents of athletes from regional Australia, empowering them to compete in national and international events.
The project will deliver all three stages of the proposed development:
Part A - Expanded Sport and Community Centre
Part B - NSW Trampoline Centre of Excellence
Part C - Athlete testing building

The Federal and State Government have committed contribution funding for the proposed works.

Part A - A three-storey sport and community centre extension at the eastern end of the existing building and will feature:
Open foyer with cafe dining and a commercial kitchen
Multi-purpose rooms including a large function room
Administration areas including reception, offices, board room and meet management facilities
Gymnasium
Amenities, changerooms and storage
New site entry, additional parking and a signalised pedestrian crossing at Stockland Drive
Upgrades to the existing Gymnasium
A new Creche in the exiting building.

Part B - The NSW Trampoline Centre of Excellence (TCE), a two-storey building at the western end of the existing building features:
Entry reception and administration area
Competitors amenities and preparation areas
Competition floor and activity area
Trampolining equipment
International-grade competition trampolines
In-ground trampolines
International-grade competition double mini trampolines
Tumbling tracks and associated landing areas
Foam pit and pit covers
Horizontal Displacement Measurement Device
Associated equipment such as safety mats.
Amenities for spectators
First floor grandstand seating for spectators

Part C - The athlete testing building is single story building to the west of the existing track. The new building includes maintenance sheds, amenities and the athlete testing room, with new reconfigured service access road.
Council is seeking a qualified contractor with proven experience in delivery of construction projects above $15M.
