Context
The West Angelas Plant Laboratory is a critical infrastructure to the site enabling product sample testing both from the Plant and the mine pit. This Lab was built in early 2000’s, majority of the equipment are at its end of life requiring replacement or needing upgrade. The existing lab also have compromised layout leading to inefficient workflow, manual handling risks and expose operators to dust. Also the current Lab in its present capacity is struggling to meet the sample testing demand. To address these issues the business is intending to build a new laboratory in a vicinity close to the existing laboratory. As a part of this project, the engineering and design of the laboratory is being completed now.
Scope of Work
The Service Provider is required to complete Supply, Install and Commission the West Angelas (WAN) Laboratory equipment, Buildings and Infrastructure. The works include, but is not limited to:
- Complete shop detailed drawings from the Company supplied engineering design drawings for the Laboratory building structure, electricals and services construction.
- Procure all company nominated Laboratory specialist equipment by directly liaising with the specialist equipment Vendors.
- Complete earthworks works associated with the building construction area which include relocation of any underground services, storage of top soil in an area nominated by the Company within the West Angelas mine site for future land rehabilitation.
- Complete all civil works, car park, drainage associated with the Laboratory building
- Supply and install Laboratory building including all structures, minor accessories fit-outs and associated services (water, sewerage, electrical power, Comms, air, nitrogen).
- Complete installation and commissioning of all laboratory specialist equipment by engaging specialist equipment vendors representatives directly.
- Commission the laboratory on its entirety to demonstrate the sample testing meets the design intent inline with the commissioning procedure provided by the company engaged engineer.
- Demolish existing laboratory and make area good.
- Supply of all materials, tools, P&E and all other services and systems necessary to complete the works
- Complete all mobilisation, inductions, training and contractor management system (CMS) requirements to be able to deliver the works
- Provide security and protection of the construction site, temporary works and all material and construction plant in all weather conditions
- Handover and acceptance of the completed works
- Clean up and demobilisation following the completion of the works
The Package will be in 3 separable portions: SP1 - Procurement of long lead specialist equipment; SP2 - Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Laboratory; SP3 - Demolition of existing Laboratory
Pre-requisition for Service Provider:
There are significant portion associated with specialist equipment procurement of around $7million with long lead times of upto 10-12months. In the interest of avoiding delays in setting up procurement accounts/contract between the Service Provider and Specialist Equipment Vendors, the Service provider must confirm that with each of the below vendors supply arrangements will be set up and be ready to procure as soon as the procurement contract is awarded. An indicative timeline is provided below as well.
