Tender Description
The Black Spot Road Safety Program is a federally funded minor capital works program that aims to improve the safety of the national, state and local road networks through the implementation of high-benefit cost-effective engineering countermeasures and safety treatments that target known and potentially high severity crash sites.
Condition Assessments were previously undertaken on various roads within the Lockyer Valley region, which identified a number of roads that were in poor condition and unsafe for road users. Subsequently, an application for funding to the Australian Government was lodged by LVRC to upgrade these roads as part of the Black Spot Road Safety Program.
Further to this, LVRC have also engaged the services of various design consultants to undertake detailed investigations on these sections of road in order to identify key issues, root causes and provide recommendations for rectification. Such recommendations include;
- Pavement widening and rehabilitation works
- Upgrades to existing intersections to improve general safety and vehicle turning movements
- Upgrades to existing stormwater drainage infrastructure
After ongoing consultation between key stakeholders discussing the findings of these investigations, design consultants were further engaged to develop detailed design documentation.
With funding for the project now secured, LVRC are seeking the services of an experienced Contractor to successfully deliver the works.
