Invitation to tender for the Burwood North Masterplan

⁠⁠⁠Burwood Council is seeking submissions from experienced consultants to develop a masterplan and future planning controls for the Burwood North Precinct and surrounds.

Burwood North is a precinct identified in the Parramatta Road Corridor Urban Transformation Strategy (PRCUTS), a NSW Government strategy developed to revitalise land from Granville to Camperdown. The PRCUTS establishes a 30-year vision to connect the cities two main central business districts of Sydney and Parramatta, via a renewed urban corridor.

Council is perusing an exciting vision for the Burwood North Precinct that leverages the Sydney Metro West to provide new opportunities for housing, employment and cultural activities. This project aims to deliver a better outcome than possible under PRCUTs by maximising the public benefit through recognising development potential and capacity of sites within the precinct. This capacity will be leveraged to deliver improved public benefits to address issues like low cost housing supply and provision of public spaces.
