Tender Description

 1. Introduction

 
City of Gold Coast Council’ s Parks and Recreational Services Branch will deliver over $100,000,000 worth new or upgraded parks over the next four years. These works will be led by Asset Custodian Representatives within the Parks Major Projects (PMP) team.
 
The team collaborate with Landscape Architectural led multi-disciplinary design teams to progress projects through all stages of planning, design and construction. Increasingly, consultant input is also required for community consultation activities which can involve online surveys, park ‘pop up’ activities and targeted stakeholder engagement. The purpose of this information pack is to provide industry with information on future projects prior to the work packages being released to the market through a competitive tender process.
 
2. Project descriptions
 
The following projects have been approved in Council’s 2021/22 Four Year Capital Works program:
 
• Dixon Reserve
 
• Washington Waters
 
• John Laws Park and Rudd Park Upgrade
 
• Kerkin Road Adventure Parklands
 
• Woodroffe Park
 
• Pizzey Park - Junior Rugby League Field Expansion
 
• Pizzey Park - The HUB and Main Entry
 
These projects are located in a variety of urban and natural settings, providing opportunities for the City to provide a variety of open space and recreation facilities and experiences once they are completed. These projects also give opportunity for the local landscape character to be explored and enhanced through landscape designs that are site specific and create a sense of place.
 
The approved project budget figures provided in the following pages are based on current approved budgets and represent project budgets which include contingency, design fees and Council costs.
 
The City are undertaking the necessary planning and investigation works to inform project scopes and understand site conditions and potential constraints. All of these projects will commence design work in the coming 12 months and will be advertised through our etendering platform.
 
Consultants are encouraged to review the project information and seek out projects that are suited to their previous experience and design strengths for when the individual projects are tendered.
