Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The Principal is undertaking a project to replace the Ship Unloader (SUL) and associated infrastructure at the K2 Berth at the Newcastle Bulk Terminal on Walsh Point and concurrently install new infrastructure to optimise the efficiency of the K2 Berth and Port generally.

The master plan generally consists of the execution of a series of projects as outlined below:

- SUL (the demolition and replacement of the Ship Unloader on the K2 Berth);

- S2S (construction of conveyor network and conveyor system connecting the SUL to a storage and/or dispatch shed for imported bulk materials including but not limited to the following):

o S2S Berth Conveyor;

o S2S Conveyor(s); and

o S2S Shed(s).

At completion of the masterplan PON will have commissioned a Berth with unloading equipment and infrastructure capable of a minimum unloading through ship rate of 600 tph for a 1200 kg/m3product (1st hatch open to last hatch closed) calculated on a handymax vessel, significantly increasing the efficiency of the Berth operations with anticipated cost savings flowing back to the end consumer.

The Berth Conveyor component of the works was descoped from the K2 SUL project in 2018, the Principal now seeks to deliver the Berth Conveyor infrastructure as part of realising the described masterplan.
