Tender Description
Litchfield Council operates three waste transfer stations. The three waste transfer stations receive domestic and commercial waste from the Litchfield municipality, and are located at:
- Howard Springs: near the intersection of Howard Springs Road and Stuart Highway
- Humpty Doo: near the intersection of Spencely Road and Strangways Road
- Berry Springs: east of the Berry Springs service area
Solid waste that cannot be recycled or otherwise reused is collected in Council-owned bins and transported under contract to landfill for disposal. Waste oil is also collected at two transfer stations and removed periodically for processing under the same contract.
The current contract commenced in 2018 and concludes in late 2022.
Council wishes to establish a new waste transport contract using updated contract duration prescribed by the Local Government Act (2019) General Regulations Procurement.
