Concrete Crushing/Recycling Services - Broome Waste Management Facility

⁠⁠⁠ The Principal is seeking a suitably competent Contractor to provide concrete crushing and recycling services for stockpiled concrete and associated type materials accepted at the Buckleys Road Waste Management Facility.

The Principal operates the Buckleys Road Waste Management Facility as a Category 64 Class II Putrescible Landfill Site.

The facility is open to commercial and domestic facility users. Facility users bring their waste concrete and associated type materials in for disposal where it is collected and stockpiled.

Contractors shall provide detailed methodology statements as part of their evaluation submission, it is however anticipated that the crushing plant setup may encompass some or all of the following:

Processing plant to include a combination of Jaw crushers, Impact crushers and screening plant that will crush the waste concrete with bulk of steel reinforcing included. The plant shall be connected by a series of conveyers with the ability to remove reinforcing steel and other deleterious materials by magnetic and air blower technology. Screening plant shall screen final product to specification and be able to return over size product back into the Impact crusher for further reprocessing.

The basis for measurement of all products produced and associated payment will be in tonnes. The successful contractor must have certified scales on their loaders that will be checked, calibrated on site by the Shire of Broome in agreement with the contractor, prior to start of service delivery.

The proposed outcome should provide basically two outputs.

• Finished crushed concrete roadbase (20mm minus) that conforms with IPWEA-WALGA Specifications for Recycled Roadbase V1 May 2016. Estimated to be 75% of the processed tonnage.

• Waste Sand, steel and other deleterious material by product, dependent on amount of sand in stockpiles estimated to be 25% of the processed tonnage.
