Request for Quotation: Slashing/Mowing of Overgrown Properties

⁠⁠⁠Under the Local Government Act 1993 Coonamble Shire Council (as the Local Authority) has a responsibility to ensure that all land or premises are maintained in a safe and/or healthy condition. Land that is not maintained to reduce excess vegetation can cause concern to surrounding residents by potentially harbouring vermin and other undesirable species and potentially posing a fire risk.

Council requires a contractor to undertake works in accordance with s.197 of the Local Government Act 1993, being:

• Mowing and slashing of grassed areas to be below 100mm.
• Trimming of edges along paths, kerb lines and around fixtures and fence lines within the subject areas.
• Removing and disposing of subsequent green and/or other waste immediately after works on each site has been completed.
• Notifying Council’s Regulatory Officer within 24 hours after each block is completed to allow inspection and verification.

To respect landowners’ privacy, Council is not able to provide a list of properties publicly as part of this request.
