South Line Track Works P1

⁠⁠⁠TasRail is currently seeking the services of experienced, qualified and competent Contractors with rail experience to tender for the South Line Track Works P1 Project on the Tasmanian Rail Network between York Plains Road and Conara Junction in support of the Infrastructure Investment Program (IP).

Key Points of Tender:

•  The scope of work comprises:

1. Mobilisation and demobilisation from each site
2. Distribution, layout and recovery of materials
3. Renew three accommodation crossings and a Concrete Sleeper
4. Level Crossing to the current Tas Rail Standard
5. Replacement of sleepers and rails
6.  Removal of mechanical joints
7.  Destressing of installed rail
8.  Drainage improvement works including culvert extensions and reconstructions
9.  Provision of road traffic control management while undertaking the Concrete Sleeper Level Crossing upgrade works
10. Traffic Management where required
11.  Provision of all Quality Documentations

•  The Scope of Works document also outlines the expectations and qualifications required of participating Contractors and describes the nature of works to be undertaken.
• Contractors must have rail Safeworking resources to support their work.
•  The successful Contractor(s) must, where applicable, comply with the requirements of Rail Safety National Law (Tasmania) Act 2012, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and other relevant regulations. 
• On-site inspection: Planned for Monday, 27 June 2022.

Works to be performed under this contract may be classed as rail safety work as prescribed by Ral Safety National Law (Tasmania) 2012 and as such employees and/or contractors performing such works must be able to meet and maintain the medical criteria for a safety critical worker health assessment (category 1, 2013) as prescribed.
