Tender Description
Scope of Work
It is anticipated that the WMP will generate the types of waste listed below and the following recommended processes will be introduced to effectively manage the disposal the varying types of waste.
It is anticipated that the project will produce the following types of waste:
• Packaging waste (plastic, cardboard, polystyrene, wood, particle board, paper)
• Biodegradable waste (kitchen waste, lunch containers & utensils, paper)
• Electronic waste (printers, cartridges phones, computers)
• Chemical waste (poisons, chemicals, hydrocarbons, contaminated materials)
• Controlled waste (sewage, EPA controlled waste, waste oil, hoses, filters etc)
• Medical or biohazard waste (COVID, blood, personal hygiene)
• Inert waste (concrete, cement, rock, gravels, sand)
• Recyclable waste (containers, metals, cables)
It is proposed that the following waste management processes will be implemented:
• Waste will be disposed into various size bins, which will be located throughout the site
• Collection of waste will be from bins and/or skips which will be located throughout the site
• At source segregation will be implemented
• Putrescible waste will be collected and transported off site immediately
• Bulk waste will be staged and segregated at a dedicated laydown area for disposal off site
• Waste will be transported off site to licenced landfills which are approved to receive waste
